Our staff is dedicated to working with you in planning each and every detail of your wedding reception and/or ceremony music and its entertainment. Our experience of djing weddings of different cultures (Greek, Jewish, Arabic, Latin, Country), ethnic and age groups let us take pride in being hands on, take charge professionals. At Jamaicandjs, we believe a successful wedding requires the effort of many people (Planner, Caterer, Banquet staff, Photographer, Videographer, DJ) all working together in a cohesive way. Our attention to detail will assure the success of your affair so it isn’t just another wedding reception …. It’s “your” reception. We will never be the spotlight because the Bide and Groom are always the main focus. Jamaicandjs believes it takes more than just a quick conversation to schedule your event with your DJ. Listed below are details of the time we spend on your wedding. (Please keep in mind that each wedding is unique and so are the Bride & Groom. Some couples are more comfortable with meetings in person & some just as content to discuss planning by phone or email.)

Contact Wedding Coordinator: We will contact your wedding planner to get detailed information about your wedding location on property, layout, number of guest, other entertainers we’ll be working along with and general updates.

Contact Venue: We will contact the location of the reception to discuss, electrical requirements for our equipment, source of electricity location, setup and set up times.

Planning Meeting: Preferably, this meeting will be done in person with the Bride & Groom prior their wedding day. This is the time to tell your DJ what you would like or not like at your reception. If needed, your DJ will also help to provide tips and ideas to help you. Finally, you and your DJ will put together a general itinerary of events for the evening.

Set Up & Break Down: Set-up of all equipment (approximately 1 hour before start time). Break down of all equipment (after the party is over). You are never charged for the time it takes us to set-up or break down our equipment.

Pre-Event Walk Through: Go through the pre-event checklist and verify everything is ready for guest and wedding party arrival.

Performance Time and number of Hours: There is no limit to the time that your DJ will play. The contracted time can be negotiated for extra time. In short you can always add another hour.
